Asia Week begins this Friday, March 15, and continues through Saturday, March 23. This is the fifth annual Asia Week event to take place in New York and gallery and auction house owners are already seeing it as a success! Asia Week was created in order to present some of the best works of art and antiques from the continent to New York. Statues of fearsome gods and goddesses, bright blue and white ceramics, miniature paintings of young lovers in the throe of passion, and wall hangings of simple, peaceful scenes of nature are all some of the works you'll find as you wander from one gallery to museum to auction house after another.
