Celebrate the arrival of Spring on Long Island at The Charles B. Wang Center’s Sakura Festival! Join them as cherry blossoms bloom and the air fills with the rhythm of taiko drums. Discover the beauty and spirit of Japanese culture through a vibrant lineup of activities and performances for all ages. Enjoy traditional koto music, graceful Japanese dance, and thrilling martial arts demonstrations. Try your hand at bonsai trimming, calligraphy, ikebana flower arranging, origami, and manga drawing. Participate in tea ceremonies, dress up in elegant kimonos, and explore the fun of cosplay—come dressed as your favorite manga character and join the festivities!

The Charles B. Wang Center is thrilled to welcome back Robert Mahler, the renowned bonsai master, for their seasonal bonsai workshops in collaboration with the Long Island Bonsai Society. Building on the success of his previous sessions, Mahler returns this spring to guide both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts through the art and science of bonsai. Through expert instruction and engaging hands-on demonstrations, participants will gain the knowledge and techniques necessary to nurture and shape their own bonsai creations.
