While it is tempting to say that Asia Week New York (15–23 March) saw its heyday in the late 1990s during the early years of the Asian Art Fair, the event has reinvented itself in recent times and now boasts its highest ever number of international participants. This year 18 new galleries have signed up, bringing the total to 43 – some 25 per cent more than in 2012.
