Chinese Bronze Censer of a Happiness Twin Standing on a Three Legged Toad
Ming dynasty, circa 16th century
Finely modeled, the Twin holds a gourd while standing on one foot upon the oversized Toad. Both symbolic of good fortune and happiness. The boy forms the lid to the censer. All finely detailed with crisp features; the boy with pleasant smiling expression. With a lovely uniform patina.
