Carol Conover has been named the new Chairman of Asia Week New York—the collaboration of a top-tier roster of international Asian art specialists, five major auction houses, museums and Asian cultural institutions—which will take place throughout metropolitan New York from March 14-22, 2014.
“I am honored to accept the position of Chairman of Asia Week New York and look forward to continuing the successful paths forged by my colleagues, as well as collaborating with the distinguished roster of world-renowned Asian art specialists – from ancient to contemporary,” says Ms. Conover, who is also the director of Kaikodo LLC, the New York-based gallery. “As plans for our sixth year take shape, there will be much exciting news to announce.”
One such announcement pertains to the host venue which, traditionally, is held at important cultural institutions in New York. Last year’s triumphant reception was held at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum while others have taken place at the Morgan Library, the Rubin Museum of Art and Asia Society.
The week-long celebration is filled with a non-stop schedule of simultaneous gallery open houses, Asian art auctions as well as numerous museum exhibitions, lectures, and special events.
Participants from Australia, England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, and the United States unveil an extraordinary array of treasures from China, India, the Himalayas, Southeast Asia, Tibet, Nepal, Japan, and Korea.
Asia Week New York Association, Inc. is a 501(c)6 non-profit trade membership organization registered with the state of New York.
